1 Year to 6 Months Before Your Wedding

1. Announce your engagement.
2. Order wedding rings.
3. Meet with parents to discuss type of wedding and who is going to pay.
4. Plan your wedding budget. This is a good time to choose a caterer so you have an idea of the cost per person for guests.
5. Buy a memory album, photo album or wedding planner.
6. Choose your wedding & reception sites.
7. If having a church or synagogue wedding, meet with clergy.
8. Choose your attendants.
9. Shop for the bride's dress and order it now.
10. Plan your color scheme, (it may help to meet with a caterer for this regarding tablecloths and napkins, etc.).
11. Consult travel agent about honeymoon plans.
12. Register at wedding gift registry.
13. Begin guest lists.

15. Select and book your photographer, videographer & entertainment.

1 to 2 months out

1. Buy wedding gift for each other.
2. Mail wedding invitations.
3. Plan the rehearsal & rehearsal dinner.
4. Pick up wedding rings.
5. Have final fitting of gown & bridesmaid dresses.
6. Contact newspaper regarding the wedding announcement policy.
7. Arrange for hotels for out-of-town guests.
8. Send thank you notes for early gifts.
9. Purchase gifts for attendants.

3 to 4 months before

1. Complete your guest list.
2. Invite out-of-town guests early so they can plan plane, hotel and other travel.
3. Address invitations as soon as they arrive. Confirm addresses before you write out the envelopes.
4. Order bridesmaid dresses.
5. Order groom's, groomsmen's and father's tuxedos.
6. Book your caterer.
7. Shop for you wedding cake.
8. Go see your florist, choose wedding flowers and wedding reception decorations.
9. Plan ceremony & reception details with organist or other entertainment.
10. Arrange for wedding transportation.
11. Complete your honeymoon plans.

Last Two Weeks!

1. Pick up marriage license
2. Send announcement to newspaper.
3. Have your hair done by hairdresser like you plan to wear it on you wedding day! Don't forget to bring the veil.
4. Check on honeymoon reservations and airport transportation. Consider staying at an airport hotel the night before.
5. Address your wedding announcements, have someone mail them for you on your wedding day so they're postmarked that day.
6. Confirm final details with florist, entertainment, rental services, caterers, photographers, reception sites, etc.
7. Pay all balances due at this time.
8. Pay any security deposits.

Consider having disposable cameras on the guest tables at the reception. Even if you hire a professional photographer, you may get some great candid photos you wouldn't otherwise get from the professional photographer.

Final 2 days

1. Rehearsal dinner - attendant gifts.
2. Look back over the checklist and make sure you haven't missed anything. This way you can relax.
3. Double check with caterer and rental company to be sure they're exact on the details of when and where the reception is going to be.
